Popular Naas hair salon closes today

Shylocks

A long established Naas town centre business will close today.

Shylocks hair salon is owned by Michael O’Brien and has been trading at 32 South Main Street for the past two decades.

Prior to that the salon was open at three other locations in Naas and Mr. O’Brien has been a hairdresser for almost 35 years.

Now living in Co. Cavan with wife Lisa and family, Michael is retiring from his full time role in the business.

Michael’s family are well known Naas natives, originally from New Row,  a stone’s throw away from his salon.

When he started out there were five hairdressers and three barbers (Charlie Byrne, Noel Delaney and John O’Brien’s OB1)  in Naas.

“I’d like to thank all my customers for their support over the years  and I will continue to serve some of them on a part time basis. I’ll be working out of  Sheila’s Hair Studio (Basin Street, Naas), most likely on Fridays and Saturdays,” said Mr. O'Brien.
