Gardai in Naas are investigating
Gardai have warned shoppers to exercise caution when using plastic cards after an 80 year old woman was robbed outside Naas.
Naas gardai believe the woman was followed from Newbridge to her Two Mile House home where she was robbed of her debit card and credit card in a so called distraction theft.
She only noticed the cards were stolen after she was alerted by her bank, which became aware of unusual activity involving her cards.
The incident began in the Dunnes stores outlet in Newbridge on February 8 when the woman thought that a man was watching her as she entered her card number to pay for goods.
When she returned home she was approached by two people as she sat in her car.
One of them sought directions to Naas hospital and placed a map on her lap so the route could be traced at about 7.30pm.
The woman traced the route and the pair left having taken her cards.
