Kildare Village launches a Barretstown pop-up shop

Maureen Bergin, Community & Business Relations Director at Kildare Village; Eva O’Dea; and Dee Ahearn, CEO of Barretstown, launch the Barretstown pop-up shop at Kildare Village

Kildare Village has launched a Barretstown pop-up shop to mark the charity’s 25th anniversary year.

Barretstown is a not for profit camp for children with cancer and other serious illnesses located in Ballymore, and is Kildare Village’s chosen charity partner for 2019.

Their ‘Press Play’ aims to fundraise and raise awareness of Barretstown so it can expand its programmes to serve more children who suffer from serious illness, and their families.

Children with serious illness face physical and social challenges, often resulting in isolation and loneliness. Children that come to Barretstown go home with increased confidence, self-esteem and more importantly the reassurance that happiness is not just for healthy children.

Childhood stops for seriously ill children. Barretstown brings back the fun of childhood – at Barretstown we Press Play. Over the next five years, the ‘Press Play’ campaign will aim to raise an additional €5 million to ensure that Barretstown can serve as many children as possible. For more visit
