Nurses resume picketing of Naas Hospital on Thursday

Striking nurses at Naas hospital last week

Nurses working at Naas General Hospital will stage a second day of industrial action on Thursday.

Members of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation will again picket the hospital and numerous other hospitals around the country - between 8am and 4pm. The dispute has been widened to include a number of other premises for picketing.

These are Moore Abbey at Monasterevin and St. Raphael's, Celbridge, both 9am to 4pm.

The  INMO says pickets will also be placed on HSE offices at Beech House, Millennium Park, Naas (9am-4pm).

This follows their first strike day on January 30.

Following the failure of talks to resolve the issue with the Health Service Executive, the union has added two more days to the industrial action - February 19 and 21.

The strike action orginally scheduled for tomorrow does not now go ahead.
