Plans on the way to improve Naas for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians

Naas

A comprehensive review of traffic, pedestrian and cycling movements in Naas is to be undertaken.

Kildare County Council has completed the tender process to identify a consultant for the Naas Transport Strategy, which will plan for how motorists, pedestrians and cyclists use Naas.

And a meeting has taken place with the consultant company,  Aecom Ireland Ltd., which is based in Dublin.

The Naas Transport Strategy will collate recommendations for traffic, public transport, cycling and walking facilities in the town.

“It is anticipated that the strategy will be completed within an approximate eight-month timeframe. The first wave of public and stakeholder consultation associated with developing the strategy will be undertaken in this month,” said Cllr Sorcha O’Neill.
