Naas residents must pay to get their own grass cut

Naas

Some Naas residents are complaining about having to pay for grass cutting, according to a local politician.

Naas councillor Sorcha O’Neill sought confirmation from Kildare County Council that it reimburses the full cost of grass cutting and maintenance incurred by residents of estates that have been taken in charge by KCC.

She said having to pay amounts to triple taxation

However KCC says it does not reimburse or cover the full costs.

Instead grants are provided annually, on application, for general maintenance in estates and these funds can be used to help pay for grass cutting costs.
