It will be dry in most areas this morning with frost gradually clearing and some bright spells developing. Showery rain will affect the northwest, west and southwest. This afternoon, rain and drizzle will spread across Munster and Connacht, say Met Eireann. Highest temperatures of 3 to 7 degrees generally and 9 or 10 degrees in west Munster with moderate westerly breezes.

Tonight, light rain or drizzle will continue to spread slowly northeastwards. However, the northeast will remain mainly dry for much of the night. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees over Leinster and Ulster and 4 to 8 degrees for Munster and Connacht.
