Kill residents to protest following road accident

Residents at Kill are planning a demonstration today demanding a pedestrian crossing for the village.

It follows a traffic accident in the village yesterday in which a child sustained minor injuries.

Residents say Kildare County Council  should “step up and grant  a safe pedestrian crossing and to support local people to push for a safer place for everyone.”

Separately local councillor Fintan Brett has also called for a pedestrian crossing. He said this is necessary because of the increasing volumes of traffic coming through the village to avoid the congestion on the N7 arising from speed limits imposed to facilitate ongoing upgrading works.

It takes place in the village at 2.45.
