Naas library move comes under fire

The library is to move to the town hall in Naas

There is opposition to  the planned relocation of the library in Naas from the building at the canal harbour to the town hall.

Naas councillor Seamie Moore wants Kildare County Council to explain to the councillors “why this is being mooted as a necessary move.”

He said most people believe that the existing location is the most suitable.

He asked if the relocation cost of €10m might be better spent on the provision of “other much needed local amenities.”

Cllr Moore also said that if the move is inevitable then the existing library building should be  turned into a “much needed” community centre serving that area.
