There are some 22 people waiting on hospital beds at Naas Hospital this morning.
Some 18 of those are on trolleys, with another four waiting on wards.
According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, there are 526 people on trolleys across the country today, an increase of 31% on the same day last year when there were 401 patients on trolleys.
There are 63 people on trolleys in Limerick, the highest in the country, with 32 each on trolleys in Tallaght and St Vincent’s. There are five people waiting on trolleys in Portlaoise.
