New primary schools planned for Maynooth, Leixlip and Naas

Three new primary schools are being planned for County Kildare - Naas, Leixlip and Maynooth - as well as a post primary school.

The Minister for Education Richard Bruton will today announce plans for 26 new primary schools to be built in the country between 2019 and 2022, according to the Irish Independent.

The schools at Leixlip and Maynooth are planned to open in 2019 and the opening date for the new Naas school is 2021.

A new second level school is planned for the Enfield area and the Department of Education says this will open in 2020.

Most of the schools are being planned for Dublin and the surrounding areas and reflect the demands of a growing population.

Apart from these schools some 16 post primary schools are also in the pipeline.
