Kildare minecraft fans wanted to take part in huge convention next month

Schoolchildren throughout Kildare are being sought to take part in an annual minecraft fair that takes place in Dublin next month.

MineVention is back for its fourth year at the RDS on April 14 and 15.

Minecraft is a hugley popular computer game loved by millions of children and teenagers.

The massive event features everything from Minecraft tournaments and meet-and-greets with world-famous Minecraft player to panel discussions, costume contests and more. 

Organisers are looking for schoolchildren that have used minecraft in the classroom to get in touch if they want to have their projects showcased to thousands of minecraft fans.

This event is also autism friendly, with a ‘chill out’ room for children who need a quiet place to relax.

The organisers are working with Kildare-based charity Sensational Kids, the social enterprise that supports children with special educational needs, to equip this ‘chill out’ room with activities and play items designed to appeal to children with autism. Newbridge woman Karen Leigh, founder and CEO of Sensational Kids, will also be on hand at the event.
