Garda appeal for information on traffic collision near Springfield Hotel

Gardai are appealing for information from members of the public

Gardaí in Lucan are appealing for information following a traffic collision on the Leixlip Road which occurred on the morning of Tuesday, February 13.

A 19-year-old man was crossing the R148 Leixlip Road near the Springfield Hotel at around 10.25am when he was struck by a white car.

The car immediately stopped and the driver spoke with the pedestrian before leaving the scene. The pedestrian sustained minor injuries and later went to hospital for treatment. The matter was reported to Gardaí the following day.

Investigating Gardaí are satisfied that the driver involved in the collision is unaware of the injuries sustained by the pedestrian and drove off thinking the matter was resolved. 

Gardaí in Lucan investigating the incident are appealing for the driver of the car and anyone who may have witnessed the collison to contact them. Anyone with information is asked to contact Gardaí at Lucan Garda Station on 01 6667300 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
