Having fun at the Mill Lane Nursing Home Christmas party

Christmas is the most wonderful time of year but for some, celebrating the holiday at home surrounded by family and friends isn’t an option.

That’s why, for the third One4all Christmas Wish, the gift card company granted Irene O’Kane's wish to bring a smile to the faces of residents at Mill Lane Manor nursing home.

Irene, a staff member at the Naas nursing home, wanted to share in the joys of the season and treat the residents to a memorable Christmas celebration.

And with help from One4all – her coveted Christmas wish came true. Christmas came early to the residents and staff of Mill Lane Manor and their loved ones who were treated to a day filled with merry spirit and cheer, as they enjoyed music, dancing and a festive feast. The man in red, Santa Claus even made an appearance, arriving in a horse-drawn carriage laden with gifts.

Guests dressed up in their festive best with residents and staff showing off their talents by joining in the singing of carols and rockin’ around the Christmas tree as One4all captured the celebration in action.

“My Christmas wish was to throw a party for the residents here at Mill Lane. We love seeing them happy and wanted to do something really special for them and their families this Christmas. We are so thankful that One4all organised this fantastic party and helped us bring the Christmas spirit to everyone here. The residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed everything from the dancing to the singing to Santa’s visit - it was such a wonderful day," said Irene.

“We were really thrilled to be able to make Irene’s Christmas wish come true. Seeing the smiles on their faces and the joy that the music, Santa, presents and festive treats brought to them was really fantastic! The One4all Christmas Wish campaign has given us the opportunity to spread that Christmas cheer from Limerick to Kildare and we have loved every step of the way," said Aoife Davey, marketing manager for One4all.

Throughout October and November, the Irish public were invited to submit their Christmas wish, big or small to One4all, to be in with a chance of winning a prize like no other.

One4all granted two other special Christmas wishes over the festive period, the first of which was Michelle Dowling’s wish to treat her mum Tess Lynch, from Co. Limerick, to a glamourous overnight stay and makeover in Dublin – her first night away since her honeymoon 47 years ago. The second wish granted was for mum Rebecca, from Co. Wicklow, who wanted to give her son William, who has ADHD and receptive language difficulties, his very own Santa’s grotto at home.
