Kill and Clane have the highest proportion of people classifying themselves as employers or managers, according to Leinster Leader analysis of new figures from the the 2016 census.
The new report, Profile 11 - Employment, Occupations and Industry, indicates that just over 21% of the workforce in Kill, so classify themselves.
The figures is 20.6% in Clane according to calculations based the EB069 table.
Next come Naas (19.7%), Celbridge (19.4%) and Leixlip (18.4%).
Of the 2,530 people working in Kill, 536 classified themselves as being in the employer/manager, socioeconomic class.
The figures vary in the county’s main urban areas.
In Athy it is 9.8%, Monasterevin, 10.5%, Derrinturn (10.9%) and Kildare town (11.6%).
In Newbridge, 2,419 of 17,161 workers (14.1%) were so defined, compared to 14.6% in Rathangan, 16.1% in Prosperous, 16.5% in Kilcullen, 16.6% in Kilcock, 16.9% in Maynooth and 17.9% in Sallins.
