Overcrowding at Naas Hospital
Some 31 patients are being treated on trolleys at Naas Hospital today.
This is more than at any other hospital in the eastern region, which covers all the major hospitals in Dublin.
There are 25 patients on trolleys at Beaumont Hospital – the next worst affected by overcrowding in the area – and at the other end of the scale just 5 at St. James’s Hospital.
Earlier today the Health Service Executive asked patients to stay away from Naas Hospital and attend a GP instead.
There are 30 patients on trolleys at Tullamore Hospital and 8 at Portlaoise Hospital.
