Dúlamán - Voice of The Celts PICTURE: Das Supertalent on Facebook
Two Kildare people are getting set to perform in the live finals of Das Supertalent (Germany’s Got Talent) this weekend.
Aaron Doyle and Alice Fowler from Monasterevin are part of Dúlamán - Voice of The Celts, a group made up of four singers and 11 Irish dancers.
Aaron is a ¼ of the lead singers, the three others of whom hail from Dunboyne Co. Meath, and Alice is one of the backing dancers.
Because of success on the show, Dúlamán has just signed a record deal with Sony and are soon to release an album.
Aaron (21) who is currently working in Kildare Village, told the Leader how the whole thing has just taken off.
“It’s been really surreal. We all sort of knew the group would do well in the likes of the States, and Canada, the Irish heritage is so greatly appreciated over there.
“But for us, all of a sudden, you’ve been signed for a record deal and releasing an album before Christmas, I think we’re still all in a state of pure shock at how much of a whirlwind this has been for everyone involved.”
Aaron joined the group two years ago, and is one of the original members.
Producers underwent a nationwide search for talent in January last year before applying for the German competition to simply promote the show.
“The shows producers got in touch with a management company in Germany, because we thought the Irish art over there is just so highly regarded and respected", Aaron added.
“They decided to enter Das Supertalent, which at the time they thought it would just be great to make at least one TV show and get our name out there in the German eye, and honestly since there it has gone absolutely bonkers!".
The group are up against 13 other acts this Saturday night (December 16) in the live finals.
They are also busy rehearsing for their first tour which kicks off in January 2018.
