WEATHER ALERT: Status orange snow and ice warning for Kildare this weekend

Met Eireann has issued a status orange snow and ice weather warning for Kildare this weekend.

The warning comes into effect at 11pm tomorrow evening (Saturday December 9) and will be in force for 24 hours. Significant falls of snow are expected Saturday night and into Sunday.

The Met Eireann office says accumulations of 4 to 8 cm could occur quite widely with greater totals possible.

Other counties effected include for Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, and all of Connacht.
