Scoil Dara in Kilcock will reopen for class at 9am tomorrow, following the sudden closure today due to a ‘safety concern’.
A source told the Leader that the closure is due to “some sort of graffiti on a wall in the school toilets". But they had no idea what it was about.
A meeting was held late last night (December 4) by the Board of Management who announced the closure for a ‘safety risk assessment’ on the Scoil Dara school website.
An update has been posted this afternoon (December 5) stating:
“As previously advised a safety concern was brought to the attention of the school on Monday, December 4th, 2017. As student safety & welfare are paramount an emergency meeting of the Board of Management, on Monday night, decided to close the school for students on Tuesday December 5th, 2017.
“Following consultation with Gardai and relevant agencies the school will reopen tomorrow, Wednesday, December 6th 2017, for class at nine o’clock. Investigations are ongoing.”
