Gardaí catch unlicensed, uninsured driver just one day short of shocking tax milestone

Gardaí seized a car for a litany of offences including no licence, no insurance, bald tyres and motor tax which expired a day short of two years ago.

Gardaí were on patrol on the Long Mile Road in Dublin 12 when they stopped the silver Mercedes Benz car.

When stopped, gardaí discovered that the driver had no driver's licence or insurance, and the vehicle's tax had expired 729 days—one day short of two full years.

Gardaí also discovered that both the vehicle's back tyres were below the minimum tread depth.

The car was seized with proceedings to follow.
