Man charged after €720k worth of cannabis found in baggage at Dublin Airport

Gardaí arrested a man following a €720,000 cannabis seizure made by Revenue officers at Dublin Airport on Saturday.

Revenue officers stopped and searched the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight, and discovered 36kg of herbal cannabis.

The man in his 20s was arrested and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Garda Station in Dublin. 

He has since been charged and is due to appear before the CCJ Dublin, tomorrow morning, Monday, March 4.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
