Dog who survived brutal axe attack by 'human monster' ready to be adopted

A dog who survived a brutal axe attack to her head is ready to be adopted.

That's according to My Lovely Horse Rescue (MLHR), which yesterday (February 8) posted a video to their official Facebook page showing "fantastic" Maeve frolicking with other rescued animals.

They are seeking to place Maeve in a loving forever home after the horrible cruelty she endured by what they call "a human monster".

An MLHR spokesperson previously recounted Maeve's story on Facebook in January 2024, stating: "For anyone that doesn’t know the sad cruel story of Maeve, someone tried to murder her with an axe to the head.

"A miracle happened and she got away, staggered into a lovely person's garden and we rushed her to Southview Veterinary Hospital."
The rescued dog underwent surgery on January 9, 2024.

MLHR confirmed she is now doing great, and would be happy in a dog home with larger dogs and no cats.

In the video post, MLHR stated: "She is great meeting other dogs, just look at our girl. She’s so fantastic and has come a long way, she can be nervous with men but kindness and love will sort that.

"We really need to find Maeve her home fast as her fosterer is going back to work and we don’t want Maeve on her own to long. It’s time she settles into a forever family."
The charity are looking for a home with teenagers only and no children under the age of 12.
Anyone interested in adopting Maeve is asked to contact MLHR "asap".
