The woman claimed the daughter is taking drugs and her partner “is well known to the gardaí.”

A woman tried to grab the steering wheel as her mother was driving a car.

This was the allegation made by the mother at Naas District Court, where she sought family law protection.

The woman also claimed the woman is taking drugs and her partner “is well known to the gardaí.”

Describing the incident in the car, the woman said the daughter leaned in from the back of the vehicle to take the wheel from her.

The woman also alleged the daughter was “going to throw me down the stairs.”

She said she did not want to bar her from the home and “make her homeless.”

But, she said she would love to have people “stay in the house with me.”

She added she is seriously worried.

“I am scared. I have hidden all the knives in the house,” she said.

She said she had done everything for her daughter who is aged in her 20s and who was not present or represented at the hearing.

She said she had a job for the daughter and drive her to and from work.

Judge Catherine Hayden guaranteed the woman an interim protection order and adjourned the case to January 25.

The judge said if any more incidents take place she could ring the gardaí and the daughter would be arrested.

Judge Hayden said the daughter could contest the granting of the order in January.
