Kildare students win awards at All-Ireland competition

The event took place in Dublin
Students from the Naas-based Carol Gleeson School of Speech and Drama participated successfully at the Speech and Drama Teachers of Ireland All-Ireland Feis at the Talbot Hotel, Stillorgan.
This year’s event was run in a hybrid format, attracting thousands of entries from across the country, with competitors first taking part in a video round before progressing to the live finals.
Some 31 students from the school performed at the finals, with 17 achieving top honours including multiple gold medals and trophies.
Zoe Fitzpatrick was awarded the prestigious Montaine perpetual drama trophy for the 15–16 Solo Drama category, before going on to secure the overall senior student acting prize, known as “the Shield” – the highest acting accolade of the competition.
Ms Gleeson praised the dedication, talent and professionalism of the students.
“The exceptional performances brought great pride to both their families and the wider school community,” she added.
