A request has been made for “chatty benches” to be provided in the Naas area.
Local councillor Ger Dunne has asked Kildare County Council to install the benches in parks, the lakes area, as well as along the canal and popular walkways.
The benches are part of an initiative aiming to fight loneliness and social isolation and the concept has already been endorsed by KCC.
