In relation to the second offence it was stated he stepped onto the Dublin Road, Naas,  on multiple occasions.

The court was also told he had 10 previous convictions including three for public disorder incidents.

Defending solicitor Tim Kennelly said the defendant does not remember making the remark and he was “completely intoxicated.”

He said the defendant’s problems began when he became homeless and he added that when he is sober he is very respectful.

He added that at one point the defendant was doing well, working and had friends.

Judge Zaidan said if body cam images were available to the court he could play them and the defendant would be embarrassed.

He said he would impose a 21 day custody term because of the comment made.
