More speed ramps sought for Kildare housing estate

A review of existing traffic calming measures in the region is planned
The installation of extra speed ramps has been sought for one County Kildare housing estate.
The request, which was made by Independent councillor Tom McDonnell, was heard during the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting, which took place on Wednesday, May 20 last.
During the early stages of this meeting, Cllr McDonnell motioned for Kildare County Council (KCC) to install the ramps in Moanbane Park housing estate in Kilcullen.

His motion was seconded by Fianna Fáil Cllr Suzanne Doyle.
Responding to Cllr McDonnell’s motion, KCC said via the report it presented at the meeting: “The Municipal District Office will carry out a review of the existing traffic calming measures in Moanbane Park housing estate to determine if additional measures may be required.”
In addition, a representative for KCC who was also present at the meeting assured Cllr McDonnell: “It [the estate] is on the review list for traffic calming measures.”
