Money needed for road safety work on this main street in Kildare

Children need to cross safely
Money will have to be found for road safety measures in Kill village - because the work is not part of a current programme of projects, which have been prioritised by Kildare County Council.
KCC was asked to provide safe crossing points by Naas mayor Fintan Brett.
He told a Naas Municipal District committee meeting that these are needed on the Hartwell Road and at St Brigid’s Terrace “to allow children cross safely especially during the early morning traffic when all roads are frequently full of backed-up traffic.”
He said over 300 houses have been built in the Hartwell Road and traffic comes through the village in numbers when the nearby M7 route is congested.
He added that “before long” traffic lights will be required at their location.
KCC official Mark McLoughlin said it was up to the NMD councillors to prioritise this over something else already listed for attention.
