Car was 'weaving in and out across three lanes'

A motorist found driving having consumed cocaine had his 12 year old son with him, it was claimed at Naas District Court.

The man was found driving on the N7 at Greenhills, Kill on March 27, 2022.

Garda Deirdre Barry said the defendant’s car was “weaving in and out across three lanes.” The garda also said he was driving at 140 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

She said a blood sample returned a zero reading for the presence of alcohol but was positive for cocaine.

Judge Desmond Zaidan said the defendant had shown no regard by having his son in the car while under the influence.

The defendant was fined a total of €1,000 and disqualified for a total of two years.
