Clongowes Wood College is Kildare’s top school in terms of sending students on to university. The school is ranked number one in Leinster and 21st in the country. The table, which featured in The Sunday Times last weekend, listed Ireland’s top 400 schools based on the average proportion of pupils who went on to university in Ireland and Britain, teacher training colleges, Royal College of Surgeons, and the National College of Art and Design.
Newbridge College featured in 71st place in the list and second at county level. It was followed by Maynooth Post Primary (84th), St Wolstan’s Community College, Celbridge (136th), St Mary’s, Naas (141st), Salesian College, Celbridge (218th), Meanscoil Iognaid Ris, Naas (239th), Leixlip Community College (310th), Holy Family Secondary School, Newbridge (312th), Confey Community College, Leixlip (337th), Patrician Secondary School, Newbridge (353th), Gaelcholaiste Chill Dara, Naas (359th), Scoil Dara, Kilcock (372nd) and Cross and Passion College, Kilcullen (394th).
Kildare has three schools in the top 10 in Leinster with Newbridge College and Maynooth Post Primary joining Clongowes.
