Forensic experts are continuing to examine the scene of last night’s double murder in Kilcock, Co Kildare.
It is believed that up to three gunmen forced their way into a house in the Rochfort estate in the village around 10.20pm last night.
A 31-year-old man, who had links to a Dublin drugs gang, was shot dead. A man in his late teens was also killed, but he has not yet been identified.
The two other men in the house were seriously injured. The estate where the shooting happened is home to mostly families and commuters.
All four victims, two Irish and two foreign nationals from Eastern Europe, sustained gunshot wounds. Two of them were pronounced dead before midnight.
The two injured men, who are in their 20s and 30s, are being treated for gunshot wounds in the Mater and Tallaght hospitals in Dublin.
An incident room has been set up at Leixlip Garda Station and gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 01-6667800.
