Two men have been arrested in Monasterevin after a raid on a mortar bomb factory.
Gardai from the Special Detective Unit, the Emergency Response Unit and local gardai raided a farm in Quinnsboro, between Monasterevin and Bracknagh, earlier today.
Gardai said the raid was carried out as part of an investigation into the activities of dissident Republicans.
The two were arrested after what gardai describe as a "huge find of mortars" was made on the premises.
The men, one in his 50s and the other in his 20s, are currently being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act, 1939, at Naas Garda Station.
The scene has been sealed off and a technical examination of the area is ongoing.
