The Irish Military Vehicles Group are pleased to announce their 5th Annual Military Vehicle and Re-enactment Show, which this year will be held at the new venue of Naas Racecourse.
The show will take place on the weekend of the 23rd and 24th of June 2012.
This new venue will give us, other clubs and re-enactors (covering many periods in history) from all over the country, the opportunity to display their prized machines and equipment in a way that will allow the visitors to see them close up and in the best way possible.
The club, which is based near Newbridge, has a large and varied collection of military vehicles, artillery pieces, weapons, equipment and uniforms ranging from WWI to the 1990s all of which are privately owned and maintained by the clubs members.
The show promises to be a great day out for all the family and will include static vehicle displays of trucks, gunships, jeeps, armour, motor cycles and equipment from the Armies of many countries including the Irish Army and the UN. There will also be battle re-enactments from conflicts throughout history using authentic weapons and uniforms of the times. There will also be militaria stalls and auto jumble and a display from the Cill Dara Old Vehicles Club. It will also run in parallel with the Naas weekend market so there will be something there for everyone. so come along and have a fun day out.
Members of the public are also encouraged to join in the fun and come along dressed in period dress be they civvies or uniform.
