Spate of Newbridge robberies in residential and commercial property
GARDAI in Newbridge are investigating a number of robberies which took place in both commerical and home dwellings last week.
The Bord na Mona office on Main Street was raided on Tuesday, February 5 last between 3.30am and 4am after a window was broken and three Dell laptops were stolen.
A house in the Great Southern housing estate was robbed on Wednesday, February 6 last at 2.30am and a 47 inch Samson TV was stolen alongside the keys of a car which was later recovered in Newbridge Industrial Estate on the same day.
Gardai believe it was used in another crime on the same night between 5am and 5.30am when a cash register was taken from Lumville House in the Curragh and later found in emptied in the car.
A car was also taken from outside a house in The Elms housing estate on Friday, February 8 between 1am and 5am which was later recovered in the Curragh the following day with two occupants inside.
Gardai arrested the two people found in the vehicule and a file is being prepared and will be sent to the DDP. Gardai believe the theft is linked to another incident at Barretstown in Newbridge when a premises was raided on February 8 at 5.30am.
