Kildare groups will receive a total of €8,040 to fund physical activity for older people under the Go for Life grant scheme.
These grants are aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of older people across the country by providing them with opportunities to engage in physical activity and sport.
Grant recipients include Active Retirement Groups, ICA guilds, Local Sports Partnerships, Sports Clubs, Family Resources Centres and many others who provide older people with opportunities to get active.
A total of 31 groups in Kildare will receive the grants including: Clane Lawn Tennis Club, Derrinturn ICA, Muintireas, Clane ICA, KARE, Brindley Mill Lane Manor Private Nursing Home, Irish Wheelchair Association, Clane NMC, Craddock House, Curragh Pride Family Resource Centre FRC, Newbridge ICA, Kill ARA, Larchfield Park Nursing Home, Naas ARA, Two-mile-house ICA, Leixlip ICA, Kill ICA (Kildare), Irish Wheelchair Association, Athy; Kilteel ICA, Naas Acorn Club Over 55's, Arthritis Ireland, Kildare,Sub-group Athy; Ardclough Community Council, Fontstown ICA, the Alzheimer Day Care Centre, Monasterevin; Celbridge Community Centre Day Care Club, Alzheimer Society Maynooth, Maynooth ICA, Shalom Presentation Convent Nursing Home, Celbridge ICA Guild, Maynooth Arthritis Ireland Walking Group, and Route 66.
