Over €9k raised for Newbridge school through pedal power

Kildare Ladies senior footballer, Eadaoin Connolly joins some of the cyclists in action

People powered cinema paid off for St. Patrick’s National School, Newbridge at the school’s unique fundraiser on Sunday November 20 at the PBS Secondary school hall.

The Parent Teacher Association was delighted to raise over €9,000, which will be used for essential IT equipment. The event featured a big screen showing of family movie, Kung Fu Panda 3. Electricity, to keep the movie showing, was provided by eight teams of eight people pedaling stationary bikes. Eadaoin Connolly, Kildare Senior Ladies footballer kindly joined teachers and parents in a real team effort.

Joe O’ Connor, Principal of St Patricks school praised the school community and parent teacher association for their involvement and thanked all of the corporate sponsors and raffle prize donations from local companies and shops.
