'Buskers' Niamh and Daragh Fitzpatrick
Over €3,000 was raised from voluntary donations at the Bluebells & Buskers event in the Killinthomas Woods near Rathangan on May 1.
The biggest crowds to date at the annual event were reported.
As a family event, the afternoon, which was dedicated to the late Jimmy O’Loughlin, was a hit in every area. Brian O’Loughlin said; “From young Nikko and his sister Nikka Joy, to the seasoned ‘lads’ of the Survivors, what an afternoon of live musical entertainment they gave us, not forgetting poet Paddy Byrne who gave an excellent oration. I was especially thrilled to see Frankie Lane, formerly of the Fleadh Cowboys join Vinnie Roche for a few tunes.”
Organised by the O’Loughlin family along with RYARC committee members, the monies raised go directly to the local centre.
