The school is located within the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District

Cars are allegedly failing to give way to children crossing near one County Kildare primary school.

The claim was made by Fine Gael councillor Tracey O'Dwyer at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting, which took place on Wednesday, April 15 last.

Cllr O'Dwyer initially raised the subject when she submitted the following question to Kildare County Council (KCC): "Can the council confirm any plans to upgrade the pelican crossing in Two Mile House at the Primary School as cars are currently not giving way to children crossing?"

In response, KCC told her via the report it presented at the meeting: "The Zebra crossing located in Two Mile House was recently refurbished and is compliant with all required standards for Zebra Crossings."

"The Zebra crossing is considered appropriate for this location and there are no plans to modify this crossing," KCC added.

Cllr O'Dwyer replied by saying that she accepted this report.placeholder image
