A temporary road closure which was originally planned for a region in North Kildare has been postponed.

It follows after it was previously reported that the works would take place on the R405 Maynooth Road in Celbridge on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

Before that, the works were scheduled to take place on March 24 last.

And now, Kildare County Council (KCC) has released an urgent update in relation to the proposed works: "Please note that the previously advertised temporary road closure on the R405, from junctions Castletown Drive to Aghards Road, will not commence on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

"Works have been postponed," KCC emphasised.

KCC also revealed: "Details of the new proposed closure dates will be advertised in The Irish Independent in the coming days."
