Dumping in one County Kildare region 'will be cleaned up as a once-off measure', according to Kildare County Council (KCC).
The answer was delivered by KCC in response to a query which was submitted at the most recent Athy Municipal District (MD) meeting.
The topic initially came about when Fianna Fáil Cllr Veralouise Behan asked KCC if it had plans to address the dumping issues at Meeting Lane in Athy.

Replying to her question, KCC said via the report it presented at the meeting: "The Council is aware of the dumping issue on a private site at Meeting Lane in Athy."
"The dumping will be cleaned up as a once off measure and a more long-term solution will be investigated," KCC added.
The Mayor of the MD, Fine Gael Cllr Ivan Keatley, thanked KCC for its response.
He also noted that Cllr Behan would be "keeping a close eye" on the site.
