Shotguns, bolt-action rifles and cash were stolen from a County Kildare residence last week, according to a member of An Garda Síochána (AGS).
The incident was highlighted by Garda Shane Smyth during a guest appearance on KFM earlier today (March 4).
He told host Clem Ryan that the crime occurred on the evening of Friday, February 27 last in the Newtown region of Rathangan.
Gda Smyth added that the homeowner returned to find that their residence had been ransacked.

FIREARM MODELS
According to Gda Smyth, two shotguns, two bolt-action rifles and a sum of cash were stolen from the home.
He also specified the models of the stolen firearms:
Gda Smyth concluded by urging anyone with information relating to the thefts to contact Rathangan Garda Station on 045 524 353.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about this incident, a spokesperson for AGS responded: "Gardaí attended the scene of a burglary of a domestic residence in Newton [sic], Rathangan, County Kildare on Friday, February 27 last.
"The burglary occurred between 7pm and 8.45pm.
"A number of firearms and a quantity of money was taken."
The spokesperson concluded: "[The] investigation is ongoing."
