A pedestrian crossing or a signalised junction is needed at the south ring road in Naas, linking Kilcullen Road and Newbridge Road, Cllr Anne Breen told a Naas Municipal District meeting.

It should be provided where where Rathasker Road (adjacent to the new residential development of Rathasker Lane), opposite the dedicated laneway which runs alongside Whitethorn, on the other side of the road.

According to Kildare County Council a junction or crossing was not among the planning permission conditions imposed as part of the Whitethorn development permission.

However it will consider making this a condition (or apply a special levy) “on any future planning applications associated with development lands at this location.”
