Burglar gained entry to Kildare home through open window, garda says
A burglar gained entry to a County Kildare home through an open window, according to a member of An Garda Síochána (AGS).
The incident was described by Garda Sean O'Mahony during a guest appearance on KFM yesterday (February 11 last).
He told host Clem Ryan that the incident occurred in Ballitore on Saturday, February 7 last, between 7.30pm and 8pm.
Gda O'Mahony explained that the perpetrator managed to get through an open window of the property and took a sum of cash from a wallet before fleeing the scene.
He concluded by urging anyone with information relating to this crime to contact Athy Garda Station on 059 863 4210.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a spokesperson for AGS replied: "Gardaí received report of an alleged burglary at a residence in Ballitore, County Kildare, that occurred on Saturday, February 7 last between approximately 7.30pm and 8pm.
"A sum of cash is believed to have been taken."
The spokesperson added that investigations are ongoing.
