Kildare County Council (KCC) has outlined a a timeline for a notable North Kildare project.
The announcement was made in response to a question which was submitted by a councillor at the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District, which took place on Friday, February 6 last.
At this meeting, Fine Gael Cllr Tim Durkan asked KCC: "Can KCC outline a timeline for the Maynooth Eastern Orbital Route project, now that construction has started and confirm when construction on the bridge will commence?"
Replying to his query, KCC said via the report it presented at the meeting: "The contractual completion date for the project is April 23, 2027.
"The construction of the bridge is currently due to commence at the end of March with the mobilisation of a crew to complete piling works for the bridge on both sides of the canal," KCC added.
Speaking further on the matter, Cllr Durkan referred to the project as "a good news story for the town".
