Investigation launched after man assaulted and robbed by youths in Kildare while on his lunch break

A man was assaulted and robbed by three youths in County Kildare while he was on his lunch break from work.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about this crime, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí are investigating an alleged robbery from a person that occurred at approximately 1.45pm in the Ryevale Area in Leixlip, County Kildare, on Wednesday January 21 last."

The spokesperson also said that the investigation is ongoing.

In addition, a description of the suspects was read out on KFM yesterday (January 28 last) by Garda Christopher Fallon, who appeared on one of the radio station's programmes as a guest.

According to Gda Fallon, the injured party, who was on his lunch break from work at the time of the incident, was approached by three youths believed to be in their late teens.

Two of the suspects are described as being around 5 foot 10 inches, with blonde hair, wearing black North Face jumpers. One of these youths also had a tattoo on the left side of his face.

As for the third youth, he is described as being around 5 foot 5 inches in height, with dark hair. He was also wearing dark clothing with a compass logo on one of the sleeves of his jacket.

Gda Fallon urged anyone with information relating to this crime to contact Leixlip Garda Station on 01 666 7800.
