Kildare County Council (KCC) has assured a councillor that a traffic signals warning sign will be installed “at a suitable location”.
The matter was initially brought up by Fine Gael Cllr Kevin Duffy at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District (MD) meeting, which took place on Wednesday, January 21 last.
At this meeting, Cllr Duffy motioned for KCC to "install a warning sign for traffic lights ahead at Passlands Bridge on the R424 (Portarlington side), as the lights are located immediately after a sharp bend and drivers currently have no advance warning".
His motion was seconded by Social Democrats Cllr Pat Balfe.
KCC responded via the report it presented at the meeting: "The MD Office will review the area and install a traffic signals warning sign at a suitable location."
