The Mayor of the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District (MD) proposed a Local Property Tax allocation at a recent Kildare County Council (KCC) meeting.

Fianna Fáil Cllr and Mayor of the MD Noel Heavey submitted a motion relating to the nomination at the latest MD meeting, which took place on Wednesday, January 21 last.

Specifically, Mayor Heavey proposed for €3,700 in Local Property Tax to be allocated to KCC's Parks Department.

According to Mayor Heavey, these funds would go towards upgrading / repairing equipment in the playground which is located beside K Leisure in Newbridge.

His nomination was seconded by Fine Gael Cllr Peggy O'Dwyer.
