Kildare County Council (KCC) has agreed to the taking in charge (TIC) of a housing estate located in Monasterevin.
The decision to TIC the Barrow Close estate was made at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District (MD) meeting, which took place on Wednesday, December 17 last.
Speaking to the councillors representing the MD, KCC noted that the first TIC request was made back in 2019, and it was first advertised the following year, in 2020.
KCC also noted that the estate has a total of 10 housing units.

The TIC for Barrow Close was proposed was by Fine Gael Cllr Kevin Duffy, who appeared at the meeting by virtual means, and it was seconded by Social Democrats Cllr Pat Balfe.
After the matter was put to a brief vote, it was agreed that KCC would TIC Barrow Close.
In fact, the voting process was so brief, that it prompted the Mayor of the MD, Fianna Fáil Cllr Noel Heavey to jokingly remark: "I think that's a world record!"
