The provision of additional bike racks is being sought for the Main Street of one County Kildare town.
Fine Gael councillor Peggy O'Dwyer made the suggestion for the new bike racks at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting, which took place on Wednesday, December 17 last.
Specifically, she made the suggestion to Kildare County Council (KCC) through the following submitted question: "Can KCC consider plans for additional bike racks near the post office on the Main Street in Newbridge?"
Responding to her query via the report it presented at the meeting, KCC told Cllr O'Dwyer: "The Municipal District Office can consider installing bike racks on the Main Street in Newbridge, should funding become available."
Cllr O'Dwyer replied that she accepted the report.
She also suggested to a KCC representative who was present at the meeting to contact their fellow KCC colleagues, in order to further discuss and potentially progress the provision of the bike racks.
