Three businesses based in County Kildare have announced a collaborative Christmas fundraising campaign, with all donations going towards a well-known charity which assists children.

Allure Nails by Daga, Demon Hair by Klaudia and Stop Aging Permanent Makeup and Aesthetics, are all independent, female-owned businesses which operate out of Meta Studio, which is located on Henry Street in Newbridge.

Explaining the motivation behind the fundraiser, Dagmara Karaga of Allure Nails by Daga, told the Leinster Leader that she came up with the idea to contact LauraLynn — Ireland's Children’s Hospice about the initiative.

Dagmara said: "Together with my friend Monika (who is not professionally connected to Meta Studio), we reached out to LauraLynn to ask if there was anything we could support them with over the Christmas period."

"LauraLynn kindly provided us with a list of needed items, and this is how the fundraiser began," she added.

When asked by the Leader why they chose to assist LauraLynn through the collection campaign, Dagmara replied: "We chose LauraLynn because it is a place that gives hope to families who are facing the unimaginable.

"Many of the families they support have exhausted not only their emotional strength, but also their savings, doing everything they can to help their seriously ill children.

"As mothers ourselves, both Monika and I deal with everyday challenges, but it is still difficult to imagine what families with terminally ill children must go through."

Dagmara also said that in her native Poland, Christmas-time charity collections are very common.

"People are especially open-hearted during the holiday season," she explained. "Monika, on the other hand, suggested LauraLynn as a trustworthy and deeply dedicated organisation as she often passed by the hospice while taking her son to activities, and repeatedly heard from others how helpful and compassionate the staff are."

DONATIONS

Donated items being sought by LauraLynn include: board games, vouchers for supermarkets (Aldi, Dunnes Stores and Tesco, as well as Smyths Toys Superstores), arts and crafts supplies and children's skincare.

All donations can be left in at Meta Studio (W12 PH04).

It should be noted that the three businesses are only seeking donations of new items due to hygiene reasons.

The collection is now live and will run until Monday, December 15, 2025.
